Instagram profile data extractor

Turn Instagram usernames into profile data and engagement rates in Google Sheets

Get started with MacWorks on Mac and Windows

Still copying Instagram profile data by hand?

What this workflow does

The Instagram profile data extractor takes a list of Instagram usernames or profile links and collects profile data for each account. It can also read recent public posts to calculate engagement rate, then returns a checked CSV with one row per account.

The problem

Marketing and sales teams often have to open Instagram profiles one by one and copy follower counts, bios, links, verification and account types by hand. Comparing accounts takes longer when recent likes and comments also need to be gathered for engagement analysis.

The solution

The workflow extracts Instagram profile data and enriches your supplied list with account details, status and optional recent-post engagement figures. It saves the results as a CSV in Downloads and opens it in Google Sheets to check the columns and row count.

How it works, step by step

  1. 1

Read the username list. Takes the usernames or profile links you supply, from a pasted list or a spreadsheet column.

  2. 2

Open each profile. Visits every account in turn and reads the follower count, following count, post count, bio, bio link, verification and account type.

  3. 3

Read the recent posts. When recent posts are switched on, opens the last posts on each profile and reads the like and comment counts.

  4. 4

Save and check the CSV. Writes one row per profile into a CSV in Downloads, adds the engagement rate and follower ratio columns, and opens it to check the row count.

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract data from multiple Instagram profiles into Google Sheets?

Supply a list of Instagram usernames or profile links and run the Instagram profile data extractor in Incredible. It visits each profile, creates a CSV with one row per account, and opens the file in Google Sheets to check the result.

What Instagram profile data can I export to CSV?

The workflow exports the username, display name, user ID, follower count, following count, post count, bio, external link, verification status, account type, private status and other publicly exposed fields. It can also include recent post likes and comments, engagement rate, follower-to-following ratio and the date range of the posts read.

How does the Instagram profile data extractor calculate engagement rate?

When recent posts are switched on, the workflow calculates engagement rate as average likes plus average comments, divided by follower count. The rate is left empty when readable public posts are not available.

Can I extract data from private Instagram accounts?

The workflow records the profile information that Instagram publicly displays for a private account. It does not add recent post data or an engagement rate when those posts cannot be read.

Can I use both Instagram usernames and profile links in the same list?

Yes. The workflow accepts a pasted list, a spreadsheet column or a mix of usernames and full Instagram profile links, then converts each entry to a username before visiting the profiles.

Does this Instagram extractor require code or an API?

No. Incredible is a Mac and Windows desktop app that works in the browser you already use, signed in as you. There is nothing to code and no Instagram or Google Sheets API to connect.

Can I adjust the Instagram extraction steps or output?

An Incredible workflow repeats the process a person teaches it. To use a different sequence, set of fields or output, teach Incredible that version once and it will repeat the recorded steps on demand.

Is customer data used to train Incredible?

No. Customer data is not used to train Incredible.
