Incredible

AI for Epicor Vantage

Epicor Vantage is a legacy manufacturing ERP first built in the mid-1990s and run for years on the Progress platform, the line that later became Epicor 10 and then Kinetic. Many make-to-order and job shops still run Vantage or its smaller sibling Vista because the move to Kinetic is a large project they have deferred. Incredible drives that older system by voice, handling the job entry, receipts, labor reporting, and lookups an operator would otherwise key into the Vantage client.

How it works

  1. Hold the key and say what you need done in Vantage.
  2. Incredible works through the Vantage client the way a job-shop user would.
  3. It shows you each job, order, or receipt and waits for your approval.
  4. It records what it did, so you can trace every entry.

Can Incredible automate Vantage if we never upgraded to Kinetic?

Yes, and this is exactly where it fits. Vantage runs on the older Progress-based platform that predates Epicor’s modern web and API layers. Plenty of shops are still on Vantage or Vista because the migration to Kinetic is a large project they have chosen to defer.

Incredible does not wait for that migration. It drives the Vantage client on screen, reading forms and typing and clicking the way an operator does, so a system with no usable API still gets automated. If and when you move to Kinetic, the same voice control carries over to the newer interface.

How does it learn a repeating Vantage task?

You record it once. Walk through job entry, a receipt, or labor reporting with Incredible watching, and talk through the steps. Incredible learns the sequence of steps, not the pixel positions, so it repeats the task on its own.

In a make-to-order shop the same Vantage entries, jobs, material issues, labor, and receipts, run all day, and this is how you hand them off. Because the recorded steps describe intent rather than screen coordinates, they hold up even on an old Progress client where forms are dense.

What stops it from posting a bad job or shipment?

Incredible asks before anything that commits. Checking a part quantity or a job status is read-only and runs straight through. Creating a job, posting a receipt, or shipping an order changes your records, so Incredible pauses, shows you the exact entry, and waits for you to approve.

Every action is logged, so a supervisor can see what was entered, against which job or order, and when. If a quantity or a part number is wrong, you catch it before it lands.

Questions, answered

Is Incredible built by Epicor?

No. Incredible is a separate assistant and is not built, certified, or endorsed by Epicor. It operates Vantage the way your staff do, through the normal client.

Does it replace Vantage?

No. Vantage stays your system of record. Incredible handles the repetitive job entry, reporting, and lookups people do inside it.

We are on an old Progress version of Vantage. Will it work?

Yes. Incredible drives the client on screen, so it does not depend on a modern API. That is the point of the on-screen approach.

What happens if we move to Kinetic later?

The same voice control works on Kinetic too. You would re-record any task whose screens changed in the move.

Will it break when we patch Vantage?

Recorded tasks follow steps rather than fixed positions, so most patches do not break them. You can re-record a step if a form changes.

Does it stay within our permissions?

Yes. It works inside the same Vantage login as the person using it and cannot reach anything that account cannot.
