LinkedIn message sender

Sends a personalized message to the 1st-degree connections you choose, one at a time, at a human pace inside your own working hours. Merge fields fill in each person's name, company and role, and any follow-up sequence stops the moment somebody replies.

About this workflow

What this workflow does

Messaging your existing LinkedIn connections is the highest-response outbound channel most B2B teams have, and almost nobody works it, because doing it properly means writing a few hundred individual messages by hand. If you have been on LinkedIn a few years you are probably sitting on 1,500 to 5,000 connections you have never spoken to: a warm list you already own, that cost you nothing.

This workflow sends personalized messages to the 1st-degree connections you pick, on a schedule you set, at a pace that looks like a person typing rather than a script firing. Merge fields pull each recipient's name, company, role and location into the message, and every rendered message is checked before it goes so the ones where the merge reads badly get fixed rather than sent. Daily caps, randomized gaps and active hours keep the volume inside what LinkedIn tolerates.

The workflow sends. It does not carry on a conversation for you, and it should not. Replies land in your normal LinkedIn inbox, any follow-up sequence stops the moment somebody answers, and a person writes the reply. Automated answers to real answers is where outreach becomes something people rightly resent.

How it works, step by step

Every run follows the same five steps in the same order. You supply the audience filter, the message variants, the daily cap and the exclusion list, and the workflow does the rest:

  1. 1Build the audience. Filters your existing connections by job title, company, industry, location or connection date, or takes a list of profile links you supply.
  2. 2Fill in the message. Renders each message variant against the real recipient so the merge fields read correctly, and shows you the ones that do not.
  3. 3Apply the exclusion list. Drops current customers, open conversations, anyone who asked you to stop, and anyone already messaged recently.
  4. 4Send at a human pace. Sends inside your active hours on working days only, with a randomized gap between messages and a warm-up ramp on a newer account.
  5. 5Stop on a reply. Checks for replies before each follow-up and takes anyone who answered out of the sequence, leaving the conversation in your inbox.

Every run follows these steps in order. If a step cannot be completed, the run stops and tells you what happened instead of guessing.

What you need to run it

A computer with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge and the Incredible extension installed, plus your own LinkedIn account signed in to that browser. Sales Navigator is useful for building and filtering the target list but is not required, and the sending itself runs through standard LinkedIn messaging. A Google account is needed only if your recipient list and merge columns live in Google Sheets. There is nothing to code and no APIs to connect.

Why teams run this with Incredible

Incredible works inside LinkedIn the way a person would, at a pace set to protect the account rather than to finish quickly. Every run follows the steps it was taught in the same order, so the caps, the active hours and the exclusion list are applied the same way every time rather than when somebody remembers. It asks before it sends anything important, it shows you the audience and the rendered messages before the first one goes out, and it stops and reports rather than pushing through a warning. Incredible is GDPR compliant and none of your data is stored or used for training.

Frequently asked questions

How do I message all my LinkedIn connections?

Filter your 1st-degree connections down to the ones the message actually suits, write a few short variants with merge fields, then send them a handful at a time over days rather than all at once. This workflow does that: it builds the audience, renders and checks each message, applies your exclusion list, and sends inside your working hours with a randomized gap and a daily cap. Sending to everyone at once is what gets accounts restricted.

Will this get my LinkedIn account banned?

It might. LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits automated tools and the platform detects and acts on them, with responses ranging from a temporary restriction to a permanent ban. Conservative daily caps, randomized timing, a warm-up ramp and stopping on the first warning reduce the risk substantially, and most careful users do not have problems, but nobody can honestly promise you will not be restricted. Decide with that on the table.

How many LinkedIn messages a day is safe?

Lower than you would like. Well under 100 a day is the usual guidance, ramped up gradually on a newer or less active account rather than starting at the cap. LinkedIn does not publish its messaging thresholds and they vary with account age, activity and history, which is why the default here sits below what most accounts could technically get away with.

Can it send connection requests too?

No. It only messages people you are already connected to. Automated connection requests are the highest-risk activity on the platform, and LinkedIn caps requests at roughly 100 a week regardless of subscription anyway, so they are deliberately out of scope rather than a missing feature.

What happens when someone replies?

The sequence stops for that person immediately and permanently, and the reply appears in your normal LinkedIn inbox for you to answer yourself. There is no automated reply handling and there will not be. The fastest way to annoy somebody is to send follow-up two after they have already answered.

Can I personalize beyond first names?

Yes. Job title, company, location, connection date and any custom column from a supplied CSV are available as merge fields, and multiple message variants per campaign are supported. Using them is the difference between this working and not: a merge field on a generic template still reads as a template, and every message should make sense as something you would have sent by hand.

Does it work with Sales Navigator?

Yes. You can use Sales Navigator to build and filter your target list, then message the 1st-degree connections within it. The sending itself runs through standard LinkedIn messaging rather than InMail, so it does not consume InMail credits.
