Getting Started

Build your first Agent that completes tasks across your apps automatically. This guide walks you through creating an Agent, connecting your apps, and helping you explore Incredible.

What is an Agent?

Think of an Agent as your digital colleague. You describe what needs to be done, and it figures out the steps to complete it. We divide this work into three segments and you can create an agent to:

- Start a new task: Complete any routine tasks across applications

- Start a new analysis: Analyze data and generate detailed insights

- Start a new research: Gather information and explore topics

Refer to our article on Introduction to Agents for an in-depth understanding of Incredible agents and features.

Create your first Agent

For this example, let’s create a simple agent and further explore the other features. You can create an agent by clicking on the "Explore Agents" on the sidebar and select one of the three options (We will be selecting the “Start a new research” option first)

Once you click on “Start a new research”, you will be redirected to the following screen

With this option, you can research anything across any source on the internet. One example prompt you could try out is: “Research topic X and write an article for our blog. Make sure it works with our previous type of content. You can find our previous content here: https://incredible.one/w/learning-center”

You can click on the start task option (Purple button with a white arrow) to start your research. The agent will then start outlining how it will complete your task and then get started

The agent will also offer you option to Accept every action you do. If you are familiar with the task, you can always enable auto accept to let the agent complete your task without any manual intervention. (You can also let the agent run tasks in the background while you focus your time on something else).

Here is the result from this specific agent. We can see that the agent has researched and drafted a comprehensive article.

Start connecting apps

You can also start connecting apps if your tasks requires it. The agent gets things done by using the connections to your apps. Each app you connect can give your agent new abilities. For example:

  • Gmail: Send emails, manage your inbox

  • Google Sheets: Create spreadsheets, analyze data

  • Slack: Post messages, share files with your team

  • Notion: Create pages, update databases

In this case, we have connected “Gmail” and described our task in the prompt box: “Get my latest unread emails and draft some responses”.

You can also try doing tasks in the apps you work with and some good first tasks to try can be:

  • "Send an email to john@company.com asking about the project status"

  • "Create a new spreadsheet for tracking this month's expenses"

  • "Post in the #general channel that today's meeting is moved to 3pm"

Similar to our previous research example, your Agent breaks down your request into steps and executes them. This is where it gets interesting - you'll see real work happening automatically.

When your Agent finishes the task, you'll see the actual results in your connected app. You can let the task run in the background and focus on any other work and you just save time on a routine task and can focus on more important things.

Connect more apps for complex tasks

The new agent framework is powerful and can handle very complex scenarios. In our example, it was able to scan my entire inbox and tell me that I have 177,722 messages. This shows the capability of our platform to handle near infinite context. The real power comes when you connect multiple apps to one Agent. Suddenly it can handle tasks that span across your entire workflow.

  1. Browse the apps page to see what's available

  2. Connect apps that work together in your daily routine

  3. Try tasks that use multiple apps at once

Multi-app task example: "Pull the latest sales data from our Google Sheet, create a summary, and email it to the team with the subject 'Weekly Sales Update'."

Your Agent figures out the steps to access the sheet, analyze the data, format a summary, to compose an email, and send it. All automatically.

What's next

You can explore existing agents in the “Explore Agents” tab on the sidebar. Test and try out what you like and start creating agents to complete your tasks or do an analysis or even help you research. Each task you delegate frees up time for the work that requires your unique skills and judgment.

Start small with routine tasks, then gradually give your Agent more complex work as you get comfortable with how it operates. Before long, you'll wonder how you managed without it.

If you want to explore apps or to know what features are in the available applications, you can click on the “Browse Apps” option on the sidebar and click on any app to see the available features within that app.
